83 year old Brandon man assaults police officer

Additional officers called to the scene to help subdue him

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - After a Brandon city police officer pulled him over for driving while disqualified, an 83-year-old Brandon became aggressive with the officer, twice.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon police pulled him over.

Before the officer approached his car he exited the vehicle to confront the officer but eventually calmed down and returned to his vehicle.

The next time the officer approached him to get more information, he grabbed the officer's arm and attempted to pull it and the officer inside his vehicle.

Other Police members arrived on the scene to help subdue the suspect.

He was charged for assaulting a police officer and driving while disqualified.

He is to attend court in May.
