Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – It was a long way to travel but well worth the trip.
All 21 members of the ACC Cougars women’s hockey team were over 2,000 miles from home as they played in Frisco, Texas competing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 2 National Championships.
They captured the championship title with a 1-0 win in the final against Minot State.
Goaltender Marley Quesnel was spectacular between the pipes earning her second shutout of the tourney.
This is the first ACHA championship for the Cougars who entered the league two years ago.
