Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Brandon Bobcats women’s volleyball team took a small bite out of the best team in the country, but they still fell in four sets to the Calgary Dinos.
The Dinos picked up a weekend sweep with scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.
The Bobcats edged the Dinos in the first set after a dramatic come from behind victory, coming back from 22-19.
The Bobcats rallied off the next 6 of the 7 points, to win the set.
But after that, it was all Calgary, as they dominated the 2nd and 3rd set, before having to claw out the fourth and final set.
The #1 team in the country moves to 8-0 on the year, while the Bobcats drop to 2-6.
Meanwhile, the men’s team made quick work of the Dinos, finishing them off in a convincing three sets.
It was an all-around performance for the Bobcats, as the Elliot Viles was the only one to break into the double digits in kills, with 13.
Both teams will head out to Kelowna next weekend to take on UBC-Okanagan.
