Kelowna, BC (CKLQ) – A quick start and a heavy dose of the long ball gave the Brandon Bobcats women’s basketball team a 82-59 win over the UBC Okanagan Heat.
Adrianna Proulx and Logan Biccum doing most of the damage for Brandon, with 22 and 14 points respectively.
Proulx went (4-7) from three and Biccum (3-5).
Lauren Anderson finished with 11 boards.
This is the first time Brandon has won in Kelowna, the home team had won the previous five meetings in the series history.
In the men’s game, the Bobcats gave up a 17 point lead in the second half to fall 85-79.
Tyvon Cooper providing the offense as he finished with 20 points on the night.
Pookie Saunders, Jaleel Webb and Kobyn Jopp also finished in double-figures for Brandon.
Both teams will play rematches against the Heat on Saturday night in Kelowna.
