Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The Brandon Chamber of Commerce has named Rhonda Pardy as their Business Person of the Year.
The announcement was made at the Chamber's 136th annual dinner and awards gala.
Pardy owns, operates, or is invested in eight Tim Horton's outlets throughout Brandon, Virden, Neepawa and Moosomin. She started her first location on 18th Street with her husband Craig in 2001.
She was the first woman to serve on the National Tim Horton's Advisory Board. Her personal and corporate community involvement have included service on the Board of Assiniboine Community college and the Helping Hands Soup Kitchen, as well as sponsorships of a wide range of charities, both regional and national.
Her father won the award in 1995.
She says her family and team members share in the award, for their commitment in both business and in the community.
The Chamber named Ray Brownlee as recipient of the community Impact Awards, for both his real estate career, and his involvement with nuerous local charities.
Ion Coating was named as the Outstanding New Business,
Guild Insurance Brokers was named the Business Excellence Award winner - in the Large Business category. G.T. Smith & Sons Electrical was recognized in the Small Business category.
Ron Helwer was honoured with the Lifetime Builder Award, recognizing the growth and success of Shur-Gro Farm Services.
