Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Brandon Fire and Emergency Services will receive a new mobile Incident Command Unit this fall.
City Council approved the transfer of a tactical van from Brandon Police Service to the BFES. The van will provide the commander with a protected, structured environment to operate.
Currently the Fire and Emergency Service incident commander operates off the back of a half-ton truck, a system that in our ever changing climate can take a physical and mental toll.
In exchange for the vehicle the BFES will give BPS $100,000 to help pay for their new armored rescue vehicle that has a price tag of just over $400,000.
