Shelter distributes about 100 hampers daily

Brandon's Samaritan House is in need of some food donations.

Director John Jackson says they run a lean operation; when donated food arrives, it quickly goes out the door.

"We're distributing about 100 hampers a day - and a hamper could be either for a family or a single person," says Johnson. "Everyone gets meat, milk, vegetables and bread - and then non-perishables are added."

He says "at the moment, what would be most useful to us would be things like cans of soup, and then also what we call meal in a can - that could be anything from baked beans, chunky soup and tinned meat."

Samaratin House is located on Pacific Avenue - and will take donations between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
