Winnipeg, MB (CKLQ) - The Manitoba government is continuing its support with the local canola industry, which was recently hit with cancelled shipments to China.
Earlier in the week, Richardson International had its registration to export canola to China revoked.
China's government said the reason was that the product was contaminated.
Agriculture Minister Ralph Eichler says the claims are not science-based as all canola exported out of the country is inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
He said that the province will continue to stand up for their farmers.
