Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The number of new houses built in Brandon is showing a slight decline this year while the number of commercial buildings in on the rise.
City of Brandon's Planning & Buildings Department released their permit report for June.
The data includes construction activity in the City of Brandon as well as the outlying RM's of Cornwallis and Elton.
Last month, the Department issued a total of 83 permits for construction projects valued at a reported $4.23 million.
One particular significant project which was issued a permit last month was the renovation of the Shoppers Drug Mart on 18th Street.
242 residential permits have been issued.
So far, 2018's stats are significantly lower than the numbers in the same period of 2017.
