Statistics shows around 40% of farmers say they would not seek help with mental health issues


Winnipeg, MB (CKLQ) - The Canola Growers Association is trying to lift the stigma of mental health issues with producers.

Statistics shows around 40% of farmers say they would not seek help with mental health issues due to stigma.

Roberta Galbraith from the Association says farmers go through periods of stress as there job is unpredictable.

The issue will be talked about at the Grain World Conference at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg on Wednesday at 12:30pm.

Michael Landsberg will be the speaker at the event, and will talk about his time dealing with depression.
