Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - It's one of the biggest financial decisions you'll make in your life.

There are so many important things to consider when buying a house, especially your first hourse.

The second annual mortgage and first time home buyers seminar will answer any questions new home buyers may have.

Realtor and guest speaker at the event, Tyler Plante says it's a nice quick informal session for those in the market to purchase their first home.

"It's just a good educational seminar. It's very light you know, not very formal, it's just a good way to educate first time buyers," Plante said.

The session which will run approximately one hour will help first time buyers through the process.

"It's about educating buyers and what to look for and what the entire process looks like, Plante said.

"Then even when you do decided to make an offer, the different stipulations and clauses you can write to protect new buyer," Plante added.

He says though it's always open for debate, Brandon's housing market is current looking like a buyers market.

"You'll have mixed reviews on that for sure. In Brandon we do have a lot of houses on the market creating a lot of competition for the seller, so I guess that would suggest we are in a buyers market at the moment," Plante said.

If you're in the market shopping for your first house, you'll want to attend the Mortgage and first time home buyers seminar.

It takes place 6:30 Tuesday evening at the RBC Branch at 661 18th Street.

Complimentary wine & snacks will be available and you'll have a chance to win an autographed Wheat Kings jersey.
