Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Brandon Chamber of Commerce's holiday luncheon sponsored by Westoba Credit Union brought in more than 350 members of the business community at the Victoria Inn.
Ugly Christmas sweaters were on display, worn by many of the members at the lunch.
A contest was held for the ugliest Christmas sweater. The winner was Aida from Aida’s Catering, as she was wearing a red sweater and Christmas lights on it.
Members also got the chance to bid on two Air Canada tickets for anywhere in North America. Money from the auction will go to the Samaritan House.
Meanwhile in Winnipeg, Premier Brian Pallister announced two of Manitoba's most accomplished business leaders will lead the government's efforts to craft a bold and modern approach to economic development that will address today's challenges and take advantage of tomorrow's opportunities.
Dave Angus, former CEO of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and entrepreneur Barb Gamey, a member of the Premier's Enterprise Team, will try to develop a new approach to economic growth.
Angus and Gamey will set up a board to drive te initiative and will report to government in the first half of next year.
