Three men charged with second-degree murder

Stony Mountain, MB (CKLQ) - Three men are charged with second-degree murder after a 42-year-old man died at the Stony Mountain Institution.

Twenty-nine-year-old Victor Travis Ross, 29-year-old Michael Frank Okemow, and 27-year-old Wilfred George Cook have each been charged after the altercation on January 7.

After further investigation, attempted murder charges being laid against 25-year-old Anthony Michael Mitchell, 20-year-old James Frederick Sinclair, and 22-year-old Michael Roulette in relation to an assault on another inmate.

Twenty-six-year-old Stephen Lee Donovan Houle has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.


Stony Mountain, MB (CKLQ) - The RCMP is investigating a death at Stony Mountain Institution.

Police say there was an altercation involving numerous inmates.

Max Maurice Richard, who was 42, was serving a sentence for second degree murder.

Two other inmates, 30 and 21 years of age have non-life threatening injuries.
