The Santa Clara Baseball League is set to kick off tonight with four games.
The eight teams will play each other twice in a home and home format.
This year the Neepawa Cubs will be hosting the Senior "AA" Provincials from August 11th to 13th.
The means that the pennant winner along with the Cubs will be going to the tournament.
League Executive Warren Birch says that one of the best thing about the league is the parity.
"All of the teams are full of farmers who can be busy, so I don’t think teams put their best team on the field every night."
Birch is also the Carberry Royals manager and says the team would like to bounce back after a 4-9-1 record last season.
"It all comes down to pitchers, and we lost some of our pitchers this year so we might be scrambling but we’re going to be alright."
The Royals kick off their season Wednesday night in Austin.
