By this time next week the 8th Street bridge will nothing more then a memory

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - It's only taken a week for the 8th street bridge to come down.

Anderson Demolition has wasted little time taking apart the span of the bridge.

Project foreman Connor Henderson says the remaining sections will be gone by the end of the week.

"Still got more sections to the North and we have to finish the last little bit on the South side" says Henderson.

There is also the bridge supports, which again Henderson expects to come down in the coming days.

He adds they've gotten plenty of support from the rail line.

"You have to have time blocks and the guy we are dealing with is really good, so we're getting a lot of work done" notes Henderson.

Once the bridge is taken down, a sidewalk will be paved on the South side at the corner of Pacific Avenue and 8th Street.
