Man wanted for murder in the US may be in Manitoba

RCMP issue a Canada wide warrant for his arrest

A man wanted for murder is believed to be in Manitoba.

27-year-old Derek Whisenand illegally crossed into Canada near Haskett, Manitoba, sometime during the week of June 24.

Police believe he may be in Winnipeg or eastern Canada.

He is currently wanted in Texas for murder.

RCMP have issued a Canada wide warrant for his arrest.

He is travelling with a large mixed breed dog, possibly a mix of a German Shepard and pit bull or boxer, brindle in color.

Derek Whisenand is described as Caucasian, 6’ tall, 230 lbs with brown eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen with a black goatee. 

Whisenand may be armed and is considered dangerous and is not to be approached.
