Mattheos named Wheat Kings captain

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced their leadership group just a day ahead of the start of the 2018-19 regular season.
Veteran Stelio Mattheos has been named its new captain.
Mattheos becomes the 62nd captain in franchise history, succeeding James Shearer.
Brandon’s alternates for the new campaign will be defencemen Schael Higson and Braden Schneider as well as forwards Connor Gutenberg and Linden McCorrister.
The Wheat Kings, who went 2-0-1-1 during their 4-game pre-season schedule, will kick off a weekend home and home series with the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday night at Westoba Place.
