Already 15 more charges than last year

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - This year has been an especially bad one for drunk-driving in the City of Brandon.

Brandon Police say 136 people have been charged with impaired-driving offences, already 15 more than last year.

The number includes all impaired driving, control of a motor vehicle while impaired, and refusing to provide breath samples charges.

Sargent Dave Andrews called the increase "concerning" and says the number one reason for all the charges is many people are avoiding the messages and signs which tell them not to drive when intoxicated.
