RCMP say the woman was not wearing a seatbelt

Dauphin, MB (CKLQ) - Speed and not wearing a seatbelt are cited as potential reasons by the RCMP, after a 20-year-old woman from the RM of Dauphin died in a single-vehicle accident.

RCMP say the accident happened on 147 Road North, just half a kilometre east of Provincial Road 362 in the RM of Dauphin on July 10 at around 2:10 a.m.

The vehicle was going westbound when it appears to have driven off the road, hit an approach and rolled.

The woman was the only one in the vehicle, and she was ejected from the SUV when it rolled.

She was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.

RCMP say she was not wearing a seatbelt, and speed is believed to have played a role in the crash.

Officials say it is unknown at this time whether alcohol was a factor.

The RCMP Forensic Collision Recontructionist is assisting with the investigation.
