Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – For some it may be a sign that winter is on the way, but for others it’s a chance to reflect on another fantastic summer of baseball here in Manitoba.
On Sunday night, two leagues crowned their champions, a local team earned a provincial title on home turf while another earned a Senior AA Western Canadian Championship.
In the Santa Clara League final, the Neepawa Cubs earned a 9-5 victory over the Carberry Royals to win the series 3-2.
Neepawa trailed in the series two games to one before mounting a comeback.

In Border West Action, the Morden Mowhawks knocked off the Pilot Mound Pilots 8-7 to take the championship series 3-1.

Out in Prince George, BC the Southwest All-Stars rolled to another Senior AA Western Canadian Championship.
They defeated the Saskatoon Outlaws 7-5 to win the title. The win marks the third straight victory for a Manitoba club at the Westerns. Border West took the title last year, while Baldur won the championship in 2015.

Back here at home, the Rivers Comets defended home turf by winning the Senior-A Championship.
The Comets knocked off Cartwright 2-0 in the final.
Pitcher Ryan Shaw was named the MVP after throwing 14 shutout innings with 19 strikeouts.
