Teens charged after allegedly injuring turkey

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - Two teens are charged with inflicting injury on an animal after allegedly striking a wild turkey with a golf club.

Police say a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were chasing and swinging the clubs at wild turkeys on Aberdeen Avenue back on October 3.

One was struck and received a broken leg as a result.

The two teens are also charged with possessing a weapon and will be in court in November.

The injured turkey was captured by animal control officers and released outside of city limits.
