UPDATE: Brandon man turns himself in to RCMP

Nicholas Peters had been wanted in shooting on August 30th

36-year-old Nicholas Peters of Brandon, wanted in a shooting outside a home in the rural municipality of Cornwallis, is in police custody.

Carberry RCMP say early in the morning on August 30th, a 45-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital by a 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.

Police say Peters was the man who transported the victim to hospital - and he was later charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Careless Use of a Firearm, Discharge Firearm with Intent.

Peters turned himself in to police on Wednesday (Sept 4) and appeared in court Thursday.

The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.
