Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – After a two-game losing streak, the Brandon Bobcats men’s volleyball teamdidn’t take long in beating the Calgary Dinos.
Elliott Viles had 16 kills on 20 attempts in the game.
Robin Baghdady was back playing his position after a couple weeks dealing with an injury and he had 11 kills.
The set scores were 25-7, 25-18 and 25-20.
BU improved to 5-2 on the season.
Meanwhile, in the women’s game, it was the complete opposite result as Brandon took on the #1 team in the country, but it was much closer.
The Calgary Dinos beat the Bobcats 3-0 (25-16, 29-27, 27-25).
The Bobcats pushed the Dinos in the final two sets, even setting up a set point of their own in the second.
Brandon was led by Nikala Majewski’s 18 kills while Shayne Nichols led the Bobcats with 18 digs.
Both teams meet for a rematch on Saturday at the HLC, with the women’s game at 5 p.m., and the men’s game at 6:45 p.m.
