Brandon, MB (CKLQ) - The Westman area is under a heat warning.
The warning covers all of southern Manitoba, from the Ontario to Saskatchewan border.
Environment Canada says a building ridge of high pressure is forecast to bring a period of extreme heat to southern Manitoba.
There is expected to be daytime high temperatures of, or exceeding, 32 degrees on Friday and Saturday.
A cold front is expected to pass through southern Manitoba on Saturday night ending the extreme heat with more tolerable temperatures in the mid twenties forecast for Sunday.
Watch for the effects of heat illness, which includes swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
