Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Brandon Wheat Kings search for a new General Manager has begun.
The club announced on Tuesday morning that the contract of Grant Armstrong would not be extended.
“I’d like to thank Grant for his contribution to our organization,” says Owner and Governor Kelly McCrimmon. “He was responsible for many of the moves that will serve us well in the future.”
“At the same time, I also felt a change was necessary as we look to return to a higher level as an organization.”
Armstrong has been with the Wheat Kings since August of 2016 and previously spent time with Victoria and Portland.
There is no timeline in place for a replacement. Meanwhile, the team did not release contract details of either coach. Both Head Coach David Anning and Assistant Coach Don MacGillivray have reached the end of their three-year agreements which they signed in 2016.
